TABLE COMPUTER ANYONE?

Sometimes size does matter. A big plate of fat juicy steak, a big packet of Lays chips, and even a big SUV has its merits when it is used properly. However, does this relevant to the world of computers? Are we ready to have a big tablet in our living room? As for myself, I would prefer a big screen computer as I don't have to strain my eyes when I'm using it. I used to like a small screen computer until I found out I have blurred vision due to too much straining on the eyes. So goodbye small screen computer and say HELLO to big screen computer!

Recently I bought a new computer at Low Yatt Plaza, Kuala Lumpur. The initial plan was to buy iMac but I changed my mind after my husband knocked some sense in my head that I don't need it because I don't really used other programmes or applications on the computer except for Microsoft Office and browsing the net. The rest are put to sleep. Hehe. So yeah I decided to get a HP computer then which I think is good enough for me to do my work.

In the box, HP gives a wireless keyboard and a cute wireless mouse that houses the receiver for the two input devices. The ten-point touch screen is perfect for my kids as they are not very much familiar in using keyboard. Talks about today's technology.. every thing is touch screen! iPad, iPhone etc My kids are able to play games and watch educational videos on Youtube. I know for you OCD people will go worry about the screen getting smudgy with the kids' fingerprints. Don't worry, you can just wipe with microfiber cloth then wallah the screen is shine like a diamond again!

So here are some of the pcitures of my new 'baby'- HP desktop =))

THE HEROES OF HOME AUTOMATION - ALERT ME

With the internet of things set to be bigger than a Godzilla's garden shed this year, all eyes will be on AlertMe to see where the automation of our gaff goes next. Except, they won't be, because AlertMe is the unsung hero of the Internet-connected house.

Founded in Cambridge but now with additional offices in London and North Carolina, AlertME is the secret force behind British GAs' Hive system, which lets you control and monitor your central heating and hot water from a phone, tablet or anything! OMG how cool is that?! This is the ultimate awesomeness!! Imagine you were at a coffee shop hanging out with friends and you can still monitor everything at home just by through your phone! It also allows you to set schedules, turn it on and off, or adjust the temperature when you're not at home, so you can make sure you are not spending hundreds of ringgit a year just so you can keep your pet (cat or dog) warm.

AlertMe has also developed automation tech that can analyse how your appliances are wasting energy and give you advice on how to get them back on the right track. And then there's its all-in-one Smart Monitoring system that adds motions sensors, intelligent locks, cameras and smoke/carbon monoxide detectors to fully automate your house and intelligently adjust your habits.

This is the technology that will be applicable in the UK. As the third-fastest-growing tech company in the UK, AlertMe's future looks bright. In fact. it'll probably be part of our homes in Malaysia too very soon.

OF INTERNET AND HUDDLE XS

When I was younger I was only allowed to be on the computer on the weekends. Not even the internet was permitted unless I could explicitly convince the Council of Mom and Dad that it was going to be used for homework. And when they allowed me to, I would try sneak in a few hours browsing the net looking at all sorts of stuff e.g. Clothes, buildings, celebrities gossips etc when my parents were not looking. You know, because I could. Haha. Usually though, most of my weekdays were spent wanting for Friday to come. And when it did, I would spend the next weekend basking in the warm glow of a computer screen. Yes, you may now say that I'm an internet addict.

Besides the basic human necessities, I really can't live without the internet. Without it, I would feel lost and disconnected. I use the internet for almost everything - to watch videos on YouTube, to look for home decorating ideas/party ideas, to look for recipes (this is crucial! you should see me in the kitchen, one hand holding a spoon and another hand holding my iPhone, trying to read and follow the cooking instructions), to check my emails, send Whatssap messages, to search for a specific location via GPS etc It is that important and essential in my life.

And now there's Instagram. I find it really interesting to see what my family members and friends are up to everyday - where are they going, what are they doing, what are they wearing, what are they having for breakfast/lunch/dinner etc I also get updates on the latest fashion and items from my favourite online shops through Instagram.

All of these of course require internet connection, which is not an issue when I'm at home. But when I'm outside, when I need to use my phone and the internet, I usually face problem with connection. This is really frustrating, even some places that provide WiFi have the same problems with internet connection as there are too many users at one time making the connection super slow.

This makes me thinking of getting YES. I got to know from a friend of this new mobile hotspot device - the Huddle XS. Then I looked it up to see if it's really good. This device can create private WiFi hotspots wherever you are and it's light and compact enough to slip in your pocket or inside your handbag.

The Huddle XS would be apt for gizmo geeks who likes to carry around several devices at one time when they are out and about such as smart phones, tablets, laptops etc. It's very relevant to someone who is always on the move especially when you work from various locations and you want to use other WiFi enabled devices to connect to the internet. Huddle XS also offers high speed internet connection on multiple devices that is wayyyyy faster than other 3G providers. It's up to 10 times faster than 3G. You can download your favorite websites, videos and musics without any interruptions! Talking about time saving guys! :))) If you want to provide access to more than just your computer, Yes Huddle XS will be suitable for you. It allows up to 4 different devices on WiFi and 1 USB connection to access the internet service. Huddle XS is the perfect device to hook up your notebook, smartphone and/or table to the internet at the same time. For example, your iPhone, iPad and Macbook can all be connected with just one subscription. The best part of all is even if you have utilized all your data quota, you can still use unlimited data at 128Mbps with no extra charge.

Hmmm..maybe i should say yes to YES now? You know they say good things happen when you say YES ;D

THE NEW SLEEK

All the men that I know in my life are into cars. I was born in a family dominant by boys that most of our discussions and conversations over lunch or dinner meant having to hear about the power of engine, new cars and new technologies incorporated into new cars. I grew up with my dad who loves cars so much that every spare time that we have were meant for speed drives or 'jalan-jalan pusing taman' with him. Then my second brother is obsessed with cars that he would make sure he gets a copy of each Motorsport issue so that he car start dreaming and drooling over the cars in the magazine.

I have to admit i do not know a lot about cars but I really have a team of so-called 'experts' of cars (dont tell my brothers, they will start bragging about it to others =p) that are always ready to answer anything about cars, even the silliest question! They find it interesting & fun! Men! Boring! =P

So now that I am married, i can't seem to escape from discussing about cars in my life. Haha. Great! Don't get me wrong here, i loveeee cars too! The thing is I have a little knowledge when it comes to the technology that a particular car carries. So recently, my husband told me that he wanted to get a new car in two years time and was asking me what kind of car that I want..Ehems if that was your question honey, my answer would be The Range Rover Evoque. Then he asked me what do I know about The Evoque? I went err...I know that Victoria Beckham(VB) collaborated with Range Rover to design the car that represent both the celebrity and the company's image. My husband gave me that is-that-all-you-know look and told me to do my study and research on the car. Not that he's going to buy the car for me tomorrow or anytime soon though >____<

So I did my study on the car. The Evoque is a compact luxury crossover SUV produced by the British manufacturer Land Rover, part of Tata's Jaguar Land Rover Group. The Evoque has been produced since July 2011 in three and five-door versions, with both two wheel and four-wheel drive. It is designed to appeal to urban buyers and meet requirements for lower carbon dioxide emissions and fuel economy.

The Evoque was developed from the LRX concept vehicle with the goal of producing a smaller more environmentally conscious vehicle. The size of the LRX complemented a wide array of efficiency improving technologies in the form of Land Rover’s e_Terrain technologies. These included biofuel compatibility, lightweight construction materials and technologies such as the removable carbon composite roof panels, regenerative brakes, a stop-start system, and the ERAD (electric rear axle drive) parallel hybrid power train system.

Specifications

The car departs from the classic body on frame design used in the 20th century for vehicles designed for off road use. Instead the Evoque features a more modern unibody construction technique for improved handling and ride quality, and to appeal to buyers who drive primarily on road. Despite a lack of traditional body on frame construction and dedicated transfer case, the Evoque is still capable of class leading off road performance.

Models

The car was launched as two distinct models: the five-door Evoque and the three-door Evoque CoupĂ©. The five-door model is available in three trim levels — "Pure", "Prestige" and "Dynamic". While the "Evoque Coupè" is only available in two trim levels — "Pure" and "Dynamic". Land Rover markets the Pure as the minimalist version rather than the "base model" while the Prestige adds luxury options and the Dynamic focuses more on performance.

Interior
The cabin is intended to be upscale and luxurious in line with the rest of the Range Rover brand. More notable options are a cabin length fixed sunroof and a 8–inch touch screen entertainment system that can display two different images simultaneously to both the driver and front passenger, the same system used in other Range Rover and Land Rover models. As well as mood lighting, in colours such as red, and blue, located in the door sills, handles, and other nooks and crannies of the Evoque. The Evoque also has a push button start system, which will start the vehicle automatically, once the key fob is sensed. The cabin seats four, with optional heated seating, steering wheel, and windscreen wipers. There is also a 5–inch driver's information display, which displays information about the vehicle, and more. There are 12 interior colour choices available in a variety of wood and metal trims as well as three optional contrasting roof treatments.

Engine (which I don't understand most but I thought some of you would!)
Three engine options are available for the Evoque: two 2.2-litre turbodiesels producing either 148 bhp  or 187 bhp, and a 2-litre 237 bhp  turbocharged petrol engine. The 2-litre turbo charged engine is sourced from the Ford Ecoboost also being used in the Ford Edge, Ford Explorer, and VolvoS60. Small displacement high output engine choices were made to provide the Evoque adequate power while meeting increasing fuel economy requirements.

Safety
The European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) awarded the Evoque a five–star car safety rating, earning the following ratings for each criterion. The tested model was a right-hand drive, five-door with a 2.2 diesel engine registered in 2011:

When i showed my husband this, I immediately said

"When can we test drive it?"

"Didn't I tell you in 2 years time?" he replied.

*cricket sounds*

"Dear time, please fly fast!" I said out loud

"What makes you so sure that I'm getting the car for you" he giggles.

T_________________T

Fine! Let's just enjoy the photos guys! *still hoping he would get the car for me. LOL*

Sexy right? Drool...

Eventhough it looks sporty, it also serves practicality

It's definitely a head-turner for me!

There's just something so chic about the car *imagine myself driving the car* Who doesn't want a Range Rover?!!

This would be the ultimate 'bestfriend' for any women. Sighhh..

Oh my God..the lush leather interior is just too sexy. Just look at that <3
